I am so grateful to have yoga in my life. It is hard to imagine how I would manage without it. In short, yoga supports me to relate better to myself and the world around me, as I am challenged physically and mentally to focus on what is really happening within me and to respond intelligently and skilfully, with purpose and compassion. I have become a much calmer and more resilient person, as a result of practicing yoga, and it is a privilege to be able to empower others to experience the same.
My teaching involves a blend of traditional and contemporary yoga techniques and philosophies, with each session incorporating postures, breathwork, meditation and relaxation. I teach intuitively, exploring different yoga and movement styles and encourage students to take their practice off of the mat. I respond to the needs of individual students, whilst building a sense of community and I thoroughly enjoy making every session unique and fun.
I completed my 200 hour Teacher Training Diploma at Yogacampus in 2018, with additional specialist training in Yoga for Anxiety & Depression and Yoga for Stress & Burnout. As a qualified and practicing Occupational Therapist, I also have extensive experience of working within the field of mental health and appreciate the qualities of yoga as a sustainable and effective tool to reduce stress and support wellbeing and happiness, beyond conventional Western approaches.
In addition to community classes, I enjoy teaching private 1:1, group and charity classes.
